200-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor
I began my yoga practice in 2006. After more than 30 years of playing soccer, my body was starting to ache constantly and felt beat-up. I was starting to wonder how much longer I'd be able to play soccer, and what was going to fill the void once I had to hang up my cleats.
After a yoga studio opened in Livermore, I eagerly signed up for my first class and was immediately hooked. I felt amazing afterward! I was relaxed, happy…and ready for my next class. Yoga loosened up my tight muscles and brought balance to my body, strengthening my core and upper body. Regular yoga enabled my body to move more freely. For me, this translated into more soccer, feeling better than ever!
Finding yoga gave me a new path, one that I can follow for the rest of my life. There's always something new to learn on the mat. The beauty of yoga is that it adapts to each individual, and can be whatever you need it to be. Hot and active, slow and contemplative. I hope to still be learning and growing into new poses when I’m 90!
I completed my teacher training at Dragonfly Yoga and Wellness in June 2014. My goal is to offer yoga to everyone who needs it! People who are looking for a way to start moving their bodies, athletes looking to step up their performance or ease the aches and pains of competition, those who sit at a desk all day and have too much stress to manage. I truly believe yoga offers something for everyone-you just have to look until you find the type of yoga that works for you!
I teach vinyasa flow-based yoga, which focuses on syncing breath with movement. I encourage the use of props to make poses accessible to different bodies.
